June 17: Champlain canal system


If you are not actually traveling on the Hudson and the canal systems, I don’t think you can appreciate the history and how important they were. The canals were how everything got shipped to and from the western part of the US back in the day. They were the I95 and all the other trucking routes rolled up into one. The first few locks were a little intimidating, because they do all this work…just for us…and for free. Still not sure why. Anyway, the following is my report.
