June 29: Lockmania!

This is a hardcore video aimed strictly at people who want to see a few interesting locks. I would put a parental advisory on this if I knew how to work this Ipad better. Probably an HL for ’heavy locking’.

The next video will be notably lighter.

  1. Awesome videos Dan & Deb! Next career as a YouTuber? So glad to be able to follow your trip!

  2. Don’t want to suggest that I lead a dull life, but I would have contentedly watched the transition through all 8 locks. Something satisfying about it. Like watching the bartender do a slow pour of a stout.

    • I know what you mean about the time-lapse videos. I watch them over and over, even when I know what happens in the end.

  3. Wow, I really should have heeded the “HL” parental advisory here. As the RFIC (Resident Farnsworth in Charge), I’ll make sure Amanda doesn’t get her hands on this without parental supervision… It’s going to be a while, but I think that’s best in case she has any questions.

    • MY COMMENT IS “AWAITING MODERATION?!” From the people who just posted an HL content video?!?

      • Sorry Jackie, it’s tough keeping up my drinking AND maintaining an informative blog. One of them has to occasionally suffer.

  4. Before today, I would not have classified myself as a “lock enthusiast,” but after this video, I think that I have been converted. Bring on the locks!!

  5. After a few weeks of forgetting you were gone I have been catching up on your journey and I make it a nightly routine to check in on the website to see if there are any new posts. I know it’s not easy to create the posts you publish, and before you left it was obvious that this adventure takes a lot of preparation, but watching the live shots of the two of you in action, dealing with the surprises of lake Champlain and the technical aspects of navigating the locks, and so much more, it says so much about your knowledge and crewman-ship (if that is even a word), as well as the mutual respect you have for each other’s talents, and I am truly impressed. Thanks so much for sharing this beautiful adventure, stay safe, and I look forward to continuing to look in on your new world.
