May 25… Introduction to our blog

If you’re reading this, then you must already know Debbie and me, so I’ll spare you all the boring background nonsense that so often clutters these kinds of blogs. Maybe if you’re lucky, I’ll write an origin-blog along the way, like Wolverine or Hannibal Lector, because people like flashbacks, but for now, you only need to know: 1. my wife and I like boating, 2. we’re sick of work and 3. on June 5, 2022, we’re going to give ‘the man’ the middle finger and sail into the sunset, thus starting our year long boat trip on “the Great Loop”, which is a 6000ish mile cruise around the eastern third of the US and some of Canada eh. Take a look at the picture below and then spend a few minutes on the web if you feel you need more info…and you should.  

Regarding content, if you’re looking for sanitized pictures of couples at fancy restaurants sharing a bottle of wine with the sun setting perfectly in the background, this may not be your blog. There’s plenty of that stuff slowing YouTube down already. This blog is just to entertain our friends and to keep them jealous that we decided to do something cool, and you, because you’re presumably reading this in your cubicle at work, did not. Hey, sucks to be you. 

At this point, this blog is ONLY going to be published on this web page, as opposed to YouTube, etc. I will not be begging like a dog for ‘likes’ or subscriptions. My wife Debbie may occasionally update her Facebook account, but I stay away from that thing like the plague. The next few blogs should start to have some video content, once I figure out how to work all the new devices I’ve just purchased. But for the time being, we’re scrambling to get the remainder of our preparations taken care of. 

Oh, and to clarify, when I said we would be “sailing” into the sunset on June 5, that was simply a euphemism. I wouldn’t be caught dead on a sailboat…
