Mar 27: Harvest Time!

Archeologist love hunting for old relics. Conspiracy theorists crave searching for the truth. Lots of dogs enjoy chasing cars. Fact is, everyone has something that turns them on. Typically, those ‘turn ons’ are found in dark, musty corners of the internet, but for me, they’re attached to long sunken boats….
Yes, for some reason, I like hunting for anchors more than most people like their dogs. It can sometimes be a burden, but I suppose we all have some sort of a cross to bear.
In this video, I’ve tried to ‘normalize’ this obsession, even make it seem interesting or fun, but that is only so you don’t see how much it consumes me.

  1. Is that even legal without at least 1000 hrs of training & a (very expensive) permit??? Besides, once you go Rocna, you’ll never go back! (the same for Mantus) & what is the market value of a little bent danforth anyway?

    • I actually left the bent Danforth anchor on a boat ramp along with the chain. I figure someone else may want to straighten it out….or sell it the the scrap metal place for $0.12/lb. And if you want to see anchor tests by a true anchor-aholic, search YouTube for “SV Panope anchor tests”. He’s posted over 150 videos, each with GoPro footage underwater. He is now my all-time anchor hero.

  2. Super proud of the crew of the Razor’s Edge for picking up mylar balloons and spreading awareness of the dangers they create for sea and bird life. With regard to Bubble Butt, you should have called the Turtle Rehab Center in Marathon and asked if they could send someone to rescue him or they may have had a rescuer in your area who could have helped. (Incidentally, I am wearing my Sea Turtle Hospital tshirt as I type). And just w general question…do you wear a yellow tshirt in every video???
